December 2019: the first shovel in the ground

A demonstration plant next to an existing chemical recovery complex

The demonstration plant is intended be built in Terneuzen next to the ICL-IP facilities, and will work with a physical polymer dissolution process using the CreaSolv® Technology. The removed HBCD will be destructed in the bromine recovery unit at ICL-IP Terneuzen (see BRU photo facilities) and converted back into bromine. Financial funding is secured, and a land plot is purchased. Permits for application and engineering is in progress aiming towards scheduled startup of the demonstration plant beginning 2020. The initial annual capacity is 3000 tonnes of PS foam waste.
